Yakitori made in a Frying Pan

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and flavor with salt and pepper.
  2. Cut the leek into 1 cm pieces and set aside.
  3. Combine soy sauce, sake, and mirin in equal amounts of each and set aside.
  4. If you like a sweeter flavor, add sugar.
  5. Skewer the chicken and leek in that order and cook in a frying pan with a little oil.
  6. Once both sides have browned, reduce the heat and add the flavoring ingredients.
  7. Cook until you get the thick teriyaki flavor.
  8. Transfer to a serving place and sprinkle ichimi chili powder if you like, and it's complete.
