Garlic and Oil Topping
- 4 large slices Italian peasant bread
- 2 garlic cloves, cut in 1/2
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sea salt or rock salt
- Preheat the grill or broiler.
- Grill or toast both sides of the 4 slices of bread until golden brown.
- Place the hot, toasted bread on serving platters.
- Careful not to break the bread, generously rub each bread slice with the cut sides of the garlic cloves.
- Drizzle the olive oil generously in equal amounts over the bread slices.
- Sprinkle with salt and serve the hot bruschetta immediately.
