Sweet and Sour Pork

  1. Start with the sauce, Blend the 5 ml cornflour with the water and mix it with the sugar, vinegar, tomato puree, orange juice and soy sauce.
  2. Fry the chopped pinepple in the oil for 1 minute.
  3. Add this to the sauce.
  4. Cut the pork into 2 cm cubes.
  5. Sprinkle with salt and toss in the 15 ml cornflour.
  6. Heat the oil in the fryer until a crumb will sizzle vigorously in it.
  7. Deep-fry the pork for 4 minutes.
  8. Drain on absorbent paper.
  9. Heat 15 ml oil in a wide pan.
  10. Deseed and slice the green pepper and fry it quickly for 30 seconds.
  11. Lower the temperature add the sauce and cook for 1 minute., Add the pork and cook together for 1 minute.
  12. If the sauce seems too thick add a little water before serving.
