Pan-Fried Salted Mackerel with Sesame and Mayonnaise
- 4 fillets Salted mackerel
- 2 tbsp Ground white sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Sake
- 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons Soy sauce
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Garlic, grated
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- 1 dash Black pepper
- 1 dash Sesame oil
- 8 Shishito green peppers (to serve on the side)
- 1 Salt (to sprinkle on shishito green pepper)
- Mix all the ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
- Add sesame oil in a heated frying pan and stir fry the shishito green peppers.
- Remove from the pan onto a plate, and sprinkle lightly with salt.
- In the same frying-pan, pan fry the mackerel until both sides are crisp and golden brown.
- Adjust the amount of sesame oil to your liking.
- Turn down the heat to low, add the sauce mixture from Step 1 and gently toss around to make sure all the mackerel pieces are evenly coated.
- Transfer to a serving plate along with the shishito green pepper.
