Savory Beef Empanadas

- Empanada Dough
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 cup chopped onions King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- 1/4 cup chopped green peppers
- 2 Tbsp. KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 slices OSCAR MAYER Smoked Ham, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp. tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- water
- 1 cup oil
- Prepare Empanada Dough.
- Wrap tightly in plastic wrap; set aside while preparing empanada filling.
- Brown meat in medium skillet; drain.
- Add next 6 ingredients; cook on medium-low heat 10 min., stirring frequently.
- Remove from heat; stir in cilantro.
- Shape dough into 12 balls, using about 2 Tbsp.
- dough for each.
- Press each ball into 6-inch round; spoon about 1/4 cup meat mixture onto center of each.
- Moisten edges of dough rounds with water; fold in half.
- Press tops lightly to remove air pockets; seal edges with fork.
- Heat oil in deep skillet to 375F.
- Add 3 or 4 empanadas; cook 3 min.
- on each side or until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove from skillet; drain well.
- Repeat with remaining empanadas.
