Oriental Glazed Ribs

  1. Cut ribs into serving pieces.
  2. Place ribs in a 6 quart pot.
  3. Add just enough water to cover and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer 20 to 30 minutes or until tender, drain.
  5. Meanwhile while ribs are simmering, for sauce cut up any large fruit in the preserves.
  6. In a bowl, combine preserves, ketchup, soy sauce, gingerroot, and garlic.
  7. Stir together until smooth.
  8. Place ribs boneside down, in a shallow roasting pan.
  9. Brush some sauce onto the ribs.
  10. Bake uncovered in a 350F (180C) oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until heated through.
  11. Brush with remaining sauce before serving.
