Pocket Bread Sandwiches Recipe
- 3 lg. pita bread, sliced in half
- 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 2 c. grnd beef or possibly slivered steak
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- 3/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4 head lettuce, shredded
- 1/2 tomato, diced
- 1/4 green pepper, diced
- 1 stalk celery, diced
- 1/4 carrot, shredded
- 2 scallions, minced
- 1/4 c. cheddar or possibly feta cheese, shredded
- 1/2 c. sprouts
- Italian dressing
- 1/4 teaspoon parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- Hot pita bread in oven.
- Put oil, meat, garlic pwdr and oregano in pan.
- Brown slightly.
- Lightly toss salad ingredients with Italian dressing to coat.
- Add in herbs and toss.
- Put meat in bottom of pocket bread.
- Put salad on top.
- Serve.
