Chocolate Nut Pasta
- 12 ounces fettuccine or 12 ounces tagliatelle pasta noodles
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 2 -3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 3 12 cups confectioners' sugar
- 4 egg whites
- 4 egg yolks
- 34 cup ground hazelnuts
- 3 ounces semisweet chocolate
- 4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- 12 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 teaspoons lemon zest (approx. 1 lemon)
- Bring a pan of salted water to a boil.
- Add the pasta and cook for 6 minutes or according to package directions.
- Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.
- For the sauce, beat butter, half the sugar, and the egg yolks until frothy.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg whites with half the sugar until stiff, then fold into the butter mixture.
- In another bowl, mix the nuts, chocolate, bread crumbs, cinnamon, and lemon zest.
- Add to the egg mixture.
- Add to the pasta and mix gently.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease an ovenproof dish with the butter.
- Sprinkle with bread crumbs, spreading evenly to coat base and sides.
- Pour pasta mix into the dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.
