Chinese Kraut Recipe

  1. Drain sauerkraut, cover with cool water, let stand for about 15 min.
  2. Rinse well in cool running water and drain.
  3. In a large frying pan, saute/fry sauerkraut, onion and tomato in salad oil, stirring, till onions are limp.
  4. Stir in sugar, pepper, and broth.
  5. Simmer, uncovered, for 25 min or possibly till liquid disappears; stir occasionally.
  6. Correct seasoning with salt and pepper.
  7. Makes 5 to 6 servings.
