Asian Appetizer Meatballs With Hot N' Spicy Dipping Sauce
- 4 teaspoons Mrs. Dash seasoning mix (Original Blend)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 8 ounces water chestnuts
- 14 cup egg substitute or 1 egg, beaten
- 14 cup dry sherry
- 13 cup chopped scallion (Both parts)
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 4 teaspoons Mrs. Dash seasoning mix (Original Blend)
- 2 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
- 34 cup catsup
- 34 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 6 tablespoons dry sherry
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 12 teaspoon ground ginger
- DIPPING SAUCE:.
- Combine all ingredients in a 1 qt saucepan.
- Bring to a boil; stir constantly until thickened, about 10 minutes.
- Cool slightly before serving.
- MEATBALLS:.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Drain and finely chop water chestnuts; finely chop green onions.
- Combine ground beef, water chestnuts, egg substitute or egg, sherry, green onions, MrsDash Original Blend, and ginger in large bowl; mix well.
- Shape into 32 meatballs, about 1" in diameter.
- Place meatballs on rack in broiler pan.
- Bake meatballs 15-20 minutes.
- Serve with dipping sauce which should be made while cooking the meatballs.
