Sheree's Pizza Pretzels...
- 1 **** this recipe was inspired by RIP AND DIP by Stefano Foods
- 1 **** i use the pizza crust recipe from my profile...
- 1 packages pizza size pepperoni
- 10 pieces of mozzerella string cheese
- 1 jar pizza sauce
- 1/4 stick butter
- 1/8 tsp seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 6 cup water
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- make pizza dough..... can use frozen store bought pizza dough ..... turn out on lightly floured surface and roll out to 1/4" thick..... roll from center .... try to make it as much of a rectangle as possible...
- *** I actually like to use my hands and press it out...
- put on water with baking soda..... start making your pretzels while its coming to a boil..
- cut lengthwise into 3" pieces.... that are almost 15" long
- lay pepperoni in single layer end to end leaving approximately 1/2" on each end..
- then cut string cheese in 1/2... lay cut cheese ontop of pepperoni.... pull dough up on each side of cheese and pepperoni.... stretch dough and pinch to seal.
- fold the pepperoni log into a pretzel...put parchment paper on cookie sheet... let rise for about 30 minutes
- drop pretzel in water for about 30 seconds
- remove from water with a slotted spoon .... let drain..... and put on parchment paper...
- mix butter, salt, garlic and use a paint brush to paint the butter on each pretzel.. bake at 425 for about 10-12 minutes... or until golden.... outside should be soft...
- pretzel should be golden.... when u remove pretzels again paint with butter mixture..
- pretzel should be served warm with pizza sauce....
- makes a great meal with 2-3 pretzels and a salad....
