Evan's Heavenly Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 12 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 14 cups flour
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

- Preheat oven to 325.
- 2. cream butter, brown sugar and white sugar together.
- 3. add eggs one at a time.
- 4. add vanilla extract.
- 5. combine flour, baking soda and salt with creamed mixture.
- 6. add in quick oats and chocolate chips.
- 7. spoon onto ungreased baking sheet in whatever size you want, I usually make a dozen large cookies.
- 8. bake for apporximately 12 minutes, though I start watching them at that point and find they tend to need another 5, sometimes 10 minutes.
- 9. allow to cool 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack, that is IF you can keep yourself from grabbing a hot one to taste!
