Vegetarian Fried Burdock Root with Sweet-Salty Sauce and Sesame Seeds

  1. Chop the burdock roots with the skin on into pieces, and soak in water.
  2. Drain the excess water, and lightly coat with katakuriko.
  3. Shallow-fry in olive oil.
  4. Simmer the sauce ingredients in the pan.
  5. Add the Step 3 burdock roots to the pan, mix with the sauce, and you're done.
