Caramel Nut Candy Bars Recipe
- 8 ounce (about 30) caramels
- 3 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
- 3 Tbsp. Margarine or possibly butter
- 1 c. Powdered sugar
- 2 1/2 c. Peanuts
- Lightly grease 8 inch square pan.
- In top of double boiler, combine caramels and lowfat milk.
- Cook over warm water till caramels are melted, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat.
- Add in margarine; mix well.
- Stir in powdered sugar; beat by h and till smooth.
- Stir in peanuts.
- With buttered fingers, press mix into greased pan.
- Chill 1 to 2 hrs or possibly till hard; cut into bars.
- Store in refrigerator.
- Makes 18 bars.
