Date Drop Cookies Recipe
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 3 Large eggs
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon grnd cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp. water
- 8 ounce. Dromedary pitted dates, snipped
- 1 c. coarsely minced nuts
- Beat butter and sugar together in large mixing bowl till light and creamy.
- Beat in Large eggs, one at a time.
- Sift together dry ingredients; beat into sugar mix.
- Add in water to dates.
- Stir into batter with nuts.
- Refrigerate1 hour.
- Drop heaping teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake in a preheated moderate oven (325-350 degrees) for 10-12 min.
- Remove and cold on wire rack.
- Makes 72 (2 1/4 inch) cookies.
