Oven-Fried Pork Chops

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a baking pan add the shortening and butter.
  2. When the oven is hot, place the pan in the oven and let the shortening and butter melt.
  3. Beat the eggs in a shallow bowl.
  4. Put the breadcrumbs in another shallow bowl.
  5. In a Ziploc bag add the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
  6. Shake the bag to combine.
  7. Then take the chops and dredge them in the flour coating them completely.
  8. Next, take the chops and dip each into the beaten egg until completely covered with the egg.
  9. Then dredge in the breadcrumbs.
  10. Set aside.
  11. Once the shortening and butter have melted, carefully remove the pan from the oven and add the chops to the pan in a single layer.
  12. Bake for 30 minutes then turn them over.
  13. Cook for another 30 minutes.
  14. When done, remove pan from the oven and let the chops rest for 5 minutes.
  15. Serve with rice or potatoes and a vegetable!
