Oven-Fried Pork Chops
- 1/4 cups Shortening
- 1/4 cups Butter
- 2 Eggs, Lightly Beaten
- 1 cup Bread Crumbs
- 1/2 cups Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Hungarian Paprika
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 4 Bone-in Pork Chops
- Preheat oven to 350 F. In a baking pan add the shortening and butter.
- When the oven is hot, place the pan in the oven and let the shortening and butter melt.
- Beat the eggs in a shallow bowl.
- Put the breadcrumbs in another shallow bowl.
- In a Ziploc bag add the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
- Shake the bag to combine.
- Then take the chops and dredge them in the flour coating them completely.
- Next, take the chops and dip each into the beaten egg until completely covered with the egg.
- Then dredge in the breadcrumbs.
- Set aside.
- Once the shortening and butter have melted, carefully remove the pan from the oven and add the chops to the pan in a single layer.
- Bake for 30 minutes then turn them over.
- Cook for another 30 minutes.
- When done, remove pan from the oven and let the chops rest for 5 minutes.
- Serve with rice or potatoes and a vegetable!
