Apple Strudal 3 (Philo Pastry) Recipe

  1. Filling:Peel, core and slice the apples.
  2. Heat 20 gm butter in a frying pan and cook the apples to just soften them.
  3. Combine in a bowl with remaining filling ingredients and mix gently to ensure the apples do not break up.
  4. Philo pastry:Lay out a sheet and brush lightly all over with melted butter.
  5. Lay another sheet over and again brush with butter.
  6. Repeat using 6 more sheets.
  7. Place the filling down the center, leaving 5cm at each end.
  8. Roll up and seal ends, making sure the join is on the bottom, place on a greased baking tray and brush all over with butter.
  9. Bake 170C/360F for 30 min till golden brown in colour.
