Over the Top Hot Fudge Sundaes
- 12 generous scoops of ice cream, any flavor
- 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- Toasted coconut
- Slivered almonds, toasted
- Dried cherries
- M & Ms
- Scoop the ice cream into a serving bowl, cover and place in the freezer.
- Can be done one day in advance.
- Combine chocolate, sugar and whipping cream in a medium-size heavy saucepan.
- Stir over low heat until chocolate is melted.
- Increase heat to medium and bring mixture to a boil.
- Boil, stirring constantly, until sauce is smooth and thick, 4-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- To serve: Put each topping in a separate bowl.
- Set out buffet-style: Bowl of ice cream, Hot Fudge Sauce, bowls of toppings.
- Let guests serve themselves.
