Aunt Anne Blatchford's Slovak Red Cabbage Recipe
- 4 slc Bacon, finely minced
- 4 x Green onions, finely minced
- 2 x Celery ribs, finely minced
- 1 x Red cabbage, cored, finely minced
- 2 x Oranges - juice only
- 1/4 c. Apple cider vinegar
- 3 Tbsp. Brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp Salt (or possibly to taste) Black pepper, freshly grnd

- Cook bacon in large skillet over medium heat till crisp and fat is rendered.
- Add in onions, stirring frequently, till very soft, about 5 min.
- Add in cabbage in four batches, mixing thoroughly after each.
- Stir in orange juice.
- 2.
- Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring often, till cabbage is wilted, about 15 min.
- Stir in vinegar and sugar.
- Cook, stirring often, till very tender, about 15 min.
- Adjust seasoning.
