Garlic-Shallot Mashed Potatoes

  1. Microwave potatoes as directed on package.
  2. (Do not mash.)
  3. Meanwhile, melt butter in medium skillet on medium heat.
  4. Add shallots and garlic; cook 3 to 4 min.
  5. or until crisp-tender, stirring frequently.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Place potatoes in large bowl.
  8. Add milk and sour cream; mash until potatoes are desired consistency.
  9. Stir in cheese, nutmeg and pepper.
  10. Sprinkle with onions.
