Canape Of Maytag Blue Cheese, Walnuts, Onion And Apple Relis Recipe

  1. In a food processor, fitted with a metal blade, combine the cheese, walnuts and cream.
  2. Puree till smooth.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small saute/fry pan, over medium heat, add in the oil.
  5. When the oil is warm, add in the onions and apples.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Saute/fry till caramelized, about 6 to 8 min.
  8. Remove from the heat.
  9. Stir in the vinegar to taste and cold completely.
  10. Spread a heaping spoonful of the cheese mix over each toasted round of French bread.
  11. Garnish with a small pile of the apple-onion mix and parsley.
  12. This recipe yields 24 servings.
