Sourdough Steak Recipe
- 1" thick round steak, about 3 pound
- 1 c. flour
- 2 teaspoon onion salt
- 2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 c. sourdough starter
- 3/4 c. shortening
- Take your meat tenderizing mallet and lb.
- to 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut steak into serving sizes.
- Combine flour and seasonings.
- Dip pounded steak in sourdough starter, then in flour mix.
- Fry in 1 inch of melted, warm shortening in a heavy skillet.
- 6-8 servings.

- This steak is cooked with a layer of salt on it that seals in the meat juices.
- It doesn't make the meat salty, salt is an excellent conductor of heat, besides you throw the salt away when the meat is done anyway.
