Island Blackberry Cobbler

  1. Spread the berries evenly in a 9x13" baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl cream together sugar and softened margarine.
  3. Add salt, flour and baking powder alternately with milk.
  4. Drop this batter by spoonfuls over the berries.
  5. Mix together 1 cup sugar and cornstarch and sprinkle over the batter.
  6. Pour boiling water evenly over all.
  7. Bake at 375* for 45-60 minutes, or until top is light brown and berry juice is starting to set.
  8. Serve cobbler at room temperature.
