Margarita pie
- 3 cup small pretzels, ground (about 1 1/2 cups crumbs)
- 2/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 1 cup liquid margarita mix, divided
- 1/3 cup tequila
- 5 tbsp orange flavored liqueur
- 2 can (14 ounces each) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 to 3 drops green food coloring
- 1 Lime slices for garnish
- For crusts, combine pretzel crumbs and butter in a small bowl.
- Press crumb mixture into bottom and up sides of two 8 inch pie pans.
- Place in refrigerator to chill.
- In a microwave safe measuring cup, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/4 cup margarita mix.
- Let mixture stand 2 minutes.
- Microwave on high power (100%) 40 seconds; stir thoroughly.
- Allow to stand 2 minutes or until gelatin is completely dissolved.
- In a large bowl, combine gelatin mixture, remaining 3/4 cup margarita mix, condensed milk, tequila, orange liqueur, and food coloring until well blended and smooth.
- Divide filling equally between crusts; chill until firm.
- Garnish with lime slices.
- Cover and refrigerate.
