Easy Apple Strudel Recipe

  1. In small saucepan, heat butter; add in crumbs.
  2. Simmer 1 to 2 min or possibly till crumbs are golden, stirring constantly.
  3. In large bowl, combine apples, raisins, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice and vanilla; toss lightly.
  4. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease 15x10 inch jelly roll pan.
  5. On waxed paper, unroll dough into 2 long rectangles.
  6. Overlap long sides of rectangles 1 inch; press perforations and edges to seal.
  7. Press or possibly roll to 13x9 inch rectangle.
  8. Spread crumb mix over dough to within 1/2 inch of edge.
  9. Starting on the 13 inch side of the rectangle, spoon apple mix over 1/3 of dough to within 1 inch of the edges.
  10. Starting with the apple side, roll up jelly roll fashion.
  11. Place seam side down on prepared pan.
  12. Remove waxed paper; tuck under ends.
  13. Brush with egg.
  14. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 25 to 30 min or possibly till deep golden.
  15. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  16. Cold 5 - 10 min.
  17. Carefully remove from pan using 2 spatulas.
  18. Serve with whipped cream, if you like.
  19. 8 servings.
