Mix-Easy Ribbon Cake

• 2 cups cake flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/4 cups sugar
• 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 large eggs unbeaten
• 3/4 cup milk
• 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
• 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
• 18 teaspoon cloves
• 18 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
• 13 cup sugar
• 1 dash salt
• 1/2 cup raisins, seedless chopped
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 23 cup water
• 1/4 teaspoon lemon zest grated
• 1 teaspoon butter

1. Combine cake ingredients to make batter.
2. Fill with raisin filling ingredients.
3. Bake for 45 minutes.
