Barbecued Pork Hanoi Style Recipe
- 1 lb lean, boneless pork, thinly sliced
- 2 tsp honey
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly grnd black pepper
- 2 x cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp cornstarch
- 2 x scallions, finely diced
- 1 Tbsp. fish sauce or possibly oyster sauce
- 12 x bamboo skewers, soaked in water for at least 10 min Crushed peanuts Chopped herbs of your choice Fresh baguette or possibly steamed white rice
- Preheat grill or possibly broiler.
- Marinate pork in honey, salt, pepper, garlic, oil, cornstarch, scallions, and fish sauce or possibly oyster sauce.
- Set aside for 15 min.
- Thread marinated pork onto skewers, leaving 2 inches free at each end.
- Place pork skewers on the grill, turning and brushing occasionally with marinade, till they turn golden.
- Or possibly broil them.
- Strip barbecued pork from skewers.
- Sprinkle crushed peanuts and chopped herbs over all.
- Tuck meat into baguette for a sandwich or possibly serve atop bowls of warm rice.
