Mom's Picante Steak Recipe
- 2 lg. round steaks
- Garlic salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 lg. can diced green chiles
- 1 lg. jar Pace mild or possibly med. warm picante sauce
- 1 c. grated cheese
- 1 (1 lb.) can whole tomatoes
- Cut meat into individual serving-size pcs.
- Season to taste with garlic and pepper.
- Smother meat with onion slices, green chile, picante sauce and tomatoes.
- Cover with foil very tightly.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 2-3 hrs.
- Just before serving, add in cheese.
