Doughnut Holes

  1. Heat the milk and shortening in a microwave safe bowl until the shortening melts, about one minute.
  2. Cool to about 115F.
  3. Stir in the egg, sour cream, and vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, yeast, salt, sugar, and poppy seeds in a medium bowl.
  5. Stir in the warm milk mixture.
  6. Stir about two minutes, cover with plastic wrap and let stand 35 to 45 minutes.
  7. Spoon the dough into the wells of a doughnut hole make, about half full.
  8. Bake until the tester comes out clean.
  9. Serve warm with Cinnamon Honey Butter.
