Pickled Tomato Salad

  1. In a bowl, combine tomatoes, green pepper, onion and basil and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, bring remaining ingredients to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove pickling spices.
  5. Cool to room temperature.
  6. Pour over vegetables.
  7. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
