Macaroni and Cheese - Microwave Version

  1. Cook macaroni.
  2. Put 3 tablespoons butter in a large (1 1/2 quart) casserole.
  3. Microwave until melted.
  4. Blend in flour, salt, mustard, pepper, and hot sauce.
  5. Stir in milk.
  6. Microwave until thick (4-6 minutes), whisking once or twice during this time.
  7. Stir in cheese.
  8. Microwave 30-90 seconds to soften/melt cheese.
  9. Stir in cooked macaroni.
  10. In a small bowl, melt 3 tablespoons butter in the microwave.
  11. Stir in bread crumbs.
  12. Sprinkle over casserole.
  13. Microwave at 70% power for 5-7 minutes.
