Christmas Apple Pie
- 1 Graham cracker crust (you can make your own
- use a pre-made one)
- 1 lg. egg white, slightly beaten
- 5 cups fresh peeled apples
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tbsp. whole wheat flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (we generally add a bit more)
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 stick melted butter
- Brush egg white on crust, bake until light brown -- about 6 minutes (if store bought).
- Combine apples, sugar, flour, salt and cinnamon; mix well and spoon into crust.
- Mix flour, sugar and butter; put on as the top of the pie in thin sheets.
- Bake at 375F for about 50 minutes.
- Cool for about 4 hours.
