Western-Style Firm Tofu and Tuna Ganmodoki -- Fried Tofu Fritters

  1. Roughly break up the firm tofu, lightly blanch it, and drain in a sieve.
  2. If using canned tuna in water, drain the water.
  3. If using canned tuna in oil, drain the oil.
  4. Combine the tofu and tuna along with the finely broken bouillon cube, salt, and pepper to taste.
  5. Add the katakuriko (or flour) to desired thickness.
  6. The fritters will fall apart when fried if there's not enough katakuriko.
  7. Mix in parsley if you have some.
  8. Drop into a frying pan with a spoon and fry until light brown.
  9. It's delicious just like this but you could also add ketchup or mustard to taste.
