Honey-Glazed Walnuts

  1. In a wok, heat oil for deep-frying to 300 over medium heat.
  2. Add walnuts and deep-fry, turning frequently, until golden brown, 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Combine brown sugar and butter in a saucepan.
  5. Cook, stirring, over low heat until brown sugar melts.
  6. Add honey and five-spice; mix well.
  7. Remove saucepan from heat and add walnuts and sesame seeds; toss gently to coat.
  8. Spread mixture in a foil-lined baking pan.
  9. Let stand until cool.
  10. Break into bite size pieces before serving.
