Green Pepper Skillet Burgers Recipe
- 2 lbs. lean grnd beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tbsp. Wesson oil
- 1 lg. onion, sliced
- 2 med. green peppers
- 2 (8 ounce.) cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger or possibly dry mustard
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce or possibly Worcestershire sauce
- Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper.
- Shape into 6 oval steaks.
- In large skillet, lightly brown steaks in Wesson oil.
- Drain off excess fat, add in onions to pan, cook till soft.
- Cut peppers into 1 inch squares and add in peppers to pan.
- Pour in tomato sauce; blend in ginger and soy sauce.
- Cover, simmer 15 min to 25 min, or possibly till desired doneness.
- Excellent served with rice.
- Makes 6 steaks.
