Lively Lentils
- 1 12 cups dried lentils
- 4 cups water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 vidalia onion, chopped
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 12 green pepper, chopped
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 12 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 12 teaspoon cumin
- 12 cup raisins
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 23 cup tomato paste
- Bring lentils to a boil in the water and simmer 25 minutes.
- In a skillet, saute onion and green pepper in oil until soft.
- Add to lentils, along with all other ingredients.
- Simmer an additional 20 minutes until lentils are cooked, but not mushy.
