Home made applesauce
- 1 about 12 apples range in size 3 1/2 lb aprox peeled, cored, and quartered
- 1 cup water (may need 1/2 cup more dep on size of apples)
- 1 thin cinnamon stick
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/8 of the rine (or zest) of a med size lemon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 white sugar (add half at 1st, then add more if needed)
- 1 pinch of salt
- Add all ingredients to a large pot.
- Water should be an inch or 2 thick.
- On med heat bring to a boil.
- Turn to low and simmer 20 to 30 min mash with potato masher, fork, or whisk.
- Depending on how chunky you like it.
- Fill the jars, let cool, and pop in the fridge or freezer.
- ENJOY!
- :) remember to remove cinnamon stick and zest.
