BLT Two Ways
- 1 bunch Watercress Leaves
- 3 slices Bacon (cooked)
- 1 loaf White Bread, Toasted
- Mayonnaise, Taste
- 1 dash Salt
- 1 dash Black Pepper
- 1 whole Hydroponic, Local, Tomato Sliced
- 1 package (100-calorie Packet Of Wholly Guacamole) Guacamole
- 2 whole Radishes, Sliced
- BLT version 1:
- Assemble sandwich using sliced tomato, watercress, bacon, and toasted bread.
- Spread with mayo, salt and pepper to taste.
- This was closer to the classic.
- The watercress has a slight bitter/peppery flavor compared to regular lettuce, but otherwise its a pretty standard BLT.
- Hydroponic tomatoes are a fabulous way to have a summer tomato taste out of season.
- Note: I microwaved my bacon for 3-5 minutes in a heat safe dish lined with papertowels.
- BLT version 2:
- Assemble sandwich using guacamole, sliced radish, bacon, and toasted bread.
- Spread with mayo, salt and pepper to taste.
- Put guacamole on anything and call it a day.
- Its delicious.
- Then the salty bacon shines through, and the radish/watercress combo packs that bitter/peppery punch.
- It just doesnt get much better than that.
- This is totally a get out of the office, go find a bench in the sunshine and sit and enjoy kind of lunch food.
- Or sit inside and torture your co-workers with the amazing aroma of bacon.
