Bittersweet Chocolate Orange Fondue Recipe
- 1/4 c. whipping cream
- 1 1/2 tsp (packed) grated orange peel
- 8 ounce bittersweet (not unsweetened) or possibly semi-sweet chocolate, finely minced
- 3 Tbsp. Grand Marnier or possibly other orange liqueur
- 8 x 1 inch pcs lb. cake
- 8 x 1 inch pcs angel food cake
- 8 x fresh strawberries, hulled
- 2 x kiwis, peeled, each cut into 4 rounds
- 1 sm pear, cored, cut into 1 inch pcs
- 1 lrg banana, cut into 8 rounds
- 1 x orange, peel and white pith removed, cut into sections
- 8 x dry Calimyrna figs
- 8 x dry apricot halves
- Bring whipping cream and grated orange peel to simmer in heavy medium saucepan.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Add in minced chocolate and 1 tbs Grand Marnier; whisk till mix is smooth.
- Remove fondue from heat and blend in remaining 2 tbs Grand Marnier.
- Transfer fondue to fondue pot.
- Place over candle or possibly canned heat burner.
- Serve with cake pcs and fruit for dipping.
- Yield: 4 servings.
