Tost Bread: Italian Cheese Twist Recipe
- 1/4 c. butter, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon each basil, oregano and marjoram
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- 16 ounce. loaf frzn bread dough, thawed
- 3/4 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 1 tbsp. water
- 2 tbsp. sesame seed
- In a small bowl combine butter, basil, oregano, marjoram and garlic pwdr.
- Set aside.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll bread dough into a 2 inch square.
- Spread butter mix proportionately over dough.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Fold dough into thirds With a sharp knife cut dough crosswise into 24 (1/2 inch) strips.
- Twist each strip twice and healthy pinch ends to seal.
- Place about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet.
- Cover, let rise in a hot place till almost double (30 min).
- Combine egg and water, brush over twists.
- Sprinkle with sesame seed.
- Bake 375 degrees 10 to 12 min.
