Maple-Pecan Muffins

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Mix 1-1/2 cups of the cereal, milk, applesauce and butter in medium bowl; let stand 5 minutes.
  3. Add egg and granulated sugar; mix well.
  4. Stir in flour and baking powder just until blended.
  5. Spoon evenly into 12 greased or paper-lined medium muffin cups, filling each cup 2/3 full.
  6. Lightly crush remaining 1/2 cup cereal.
  7. Sprinkle evenly over batter; press lightly into batter.
  8. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean.
  9. Cool slightly.
  10. Stir 2 tsp.
  11. of the water into powdered sugar until well blended.
  12. Add remaining 1 tsp.
  13. water if necessary for desired drizzling consistency.
  14. Dizzle over muffins.
  15. Let stand until set.
