Texas pintos
- 1 lb pinto beans cleaned and picked over
- 1 half an onion diced
- 2 jalapenos seeded and diced (leave seeds for more heat)
- 1 tomato diced
- 1/4 cup cilantro diced
- 3 slice bacon
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp chicken bouillon
- 1 salt and pepper to taste
- throw all ingredients except salt and pepper into pot, cover with water, bring to boil, simmer with lid on till beans are done, stirring occasionally and adding water as needed.
- when beans are done, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary
