Veg-All Cheesy Chowder
- 1/4 c. butter or oleo
- 1/3 c. flour
- 2 c. milk
- 1 can (Swanson) clear chicken broth
- 8 oz. pkg. Velveeta cheese, cubed
- 1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
- 1/4 tsp. white pepper
- 2 cans Veg-All, drained
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Melt butter in large pan.
- Add chopped onion and cook until tender.
- Add flour and whisk or stir in.
- Cook on low heat for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Add milk and chicken broth.
- Cook over medium heat until thick.
- Add cheese and seasonings (white pepper and hot sauce), stirring until cheese melts.
- Add Veg-All and parsley flakes.
- Reduce heat and cook until heated.
- Do not boil.
- Serve with bread sticks spread with garlic and butter and toasted.
