Baked Fennel With Parmesan Cheese

  1. Cook the fennel in a large saucepan of boiling water until softened but not mushy.
  2. Drain well.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400*.
  4. Cu the fennel bulbs lengthwise into four or six pieces.
  5. Place them in a buttered baking dish.
  6. Dot with butter.
  7. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
  8. Bake in the hot oven until the cheese is golden brown, about 20 minutes.
  9. Serve.
