Deer Stew Recipe

  1. Season meat with salt and pepper and roll in flour.
  2. Brown in shortening.
  3. Add in boiling water and simmer for half an hour.
  4. Add in tomatoes, potatoes and carrots and peas.
  5. Simmer over low heat till vegetables are tender.
  6. Remove meat and vegetables to a casserole dish and thicken stock with flour mixed with water.
  7. Pour thickened stock over meat and vegetables.
  8. Bake in a 425 degree oven for 20 to 25 min.
  9. Serves 6.
