Custard Sauce

  1. Whisk together eggs, sugar, and milk in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
  2. Slowly cook custard over low heat until thickened (coating the back of a wooden spoon).
  3. Add salt and vanilla.
  4. Let cool until warm.
