Banana Cream Pie

  1. Whisk together milk, cream and egg yolks.
  2. Combine the sugar and cornstarch in heavy saucepan.
  3. Whisk in the yolk mixture and cook over medium heat stirring for 5 minutes.
  4. Stir the mixture constantly until comes to boil, about 7 minutes more.
  5. Boil, stirring 1 minute.
  6. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in vanilla, butter and banana.
  7. Pour cooked filling into a baked pie shell and smooth top.
  8. Finish with meringue or whipped cream topping.
