Painted Salmon
- 1 pound Salmon Fillet
- 1/2 cups Mayonnaise
- 1 Tablespoon Dill
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Pepper
- 2 Tablespoons Capers
- Start with a nice fillet of fresh salmon.
- Whatever size you get at the grocery store is suitable, I find a large fillet usually serves 4.
- Remove any obvious pin bones, rinse, and pat dry.
- Dont worry about the skin.
- Place your salmon in a large oven safe baking dish.
- A cookie sheet lined with foil makes for easy clean up.
- Salt and Pepper the salmon.
- Spread the salmon liberally with mayo, at least a cup for a large fillet.
- You want to frost it like a cake.
- Sprinkle the mayo frosted salmon with lots of dill, lemon pepper, and top off with 2-3 Tablespoons capers.
- Bake salmon in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes depending on the thickness of the salmon.
- Salmon will be done when it flakes easily with a fork.
