Just Beans*

  1. Soak beans for 2 to 6 hours in cold water.
  2. Drain water & replace with with fresh water.
  3. Bring water to a boil slowly.
  4. Add salt & pepper, ham hock, onion, pimento, and garlic.
  5. Reduce heat to Medium and cook for 1 hour.
  6. Be sure to stir frequently.
  7. Add molasses at this point & cook for 15 minutes more.
  8. Excellent with ham or pork.
