One Bowl Kinako Scones
- 40 grams Sugar
- 5 grams Baking powder
- 1 dash Salt
- 1 until the combined weight of is 200 grams Cake flour
- 30 grams Kinako
- 60 grams Margarine or butter
- 60 grams Milk or soymilk
- 1 (as needed), 1 teaspoon (Honey or maple syrup)
- Put the sugar in a bowl.
- Add the baking powder and salt.
- Add enough flour to bring the total weight to 200 g.
- Add the kinako and mix.
- Add the margarine and mix in a cutting motion with a rubber spatula or dough scraper (the dough will become crumbly.)
- Add the milk and mix some more.
- Add the honey, and bring the dough together.
- Preheat the oven to 200C.
- Roll out into a 1.5 - 2 cm thick circle, and cut into 6 - 8 pieces.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper, and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
- Keep an eye on them, and bake for longer if necessary.
- If it looks like they are going to burn, cover with foil and reduce the temperature.
- They're done.
- The aroma of kinako is amazing!
